Senior Accountant – Business Services & Taxation

We are seeking an energetic and highly motivated candidate with excellent communication skills and someone who thrives in a collaborative environment to join our growing team!

We are a dynamic, boutique cloud-based accounting firm located in Hawthorn East that offers a wide array of services to our highly esteemed SME clients in various industries; incorporating accounting, taxation and business advisory services.  

Preparation of financial statements and tax returns of various entities including individuals, partnership, trusts, companies and SMSFs
Review activity statements, financial statements and tax returns prepared by junior/intermediate/outsourced accountants, provision of support and training and assisting partners in managing team and business’ workflow
Review of FBT Returns, TPAR, Payroll Tax Annual Reconciliation, Workcover, STP and super guarantee
Tax research and advice on SME matters
Provision of year-end tax planning and advice to clients, provision of software related support to clients
Provision of support and training on all accounting and tax matters to junior/intermediate accountant, including technical and non-technical support and leadership
Managing client engagements and relationships, providing solutions and communication with ATO, ASIC, SRO and other statutory bodies and stakeholders
Delegation of tasks and managing workflow and productivity
Management of WIP & billings
Driving improvements and efficiencies as well as developing networks
Reporting to the partners of the practice and providing support as required.

Key Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate:

5+ years experience in business services/taxation
CPA qualified
Confidence in building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritise work
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Strong attention to detail, problem solving and organisational skills
Self-Driven and results oriented
Strong work ethic and ability to multi-task and work well in a team and provide leadership to juniors
Excellent computer and software skills (MS Excel, Word, Outlook)
Experience in Xero and BGL360 will be highly regarded
Committed to continuous development and provide exceptional service to clients
